Erica is the founder of Bak Financial LLC, a mortgage brokerage specializing in investment property loans.
Erica grew up in metro Detroit and one of her favorite things to do as a child was accompanying her dad to Builder Open Houses just for fun, dreaming about what it would be like to live there. Now she helps investors around the country realize their financial dreams through managing and flipping houses.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She started her career as a news reporter, living in New York City for 5 years writing for Dow Jones. She eventually moved back to southeast Michigan, working in the financial services industry. She was as an account executive first for asset manager Flexible Plan Investments and then for lender United Wholesale Mortgage.
Learning the mortgage industry at UWM, she realized helping clients buy and utilize real estate was her passion. She left UWM to get her own loan officer license and opened her own brokerage, Bak Financial LLC.
Nowadays, Erica lives in West Bloomfield with her three teenage kids, partner Chris, and two orange cats. There isn’t much time for hobbies after work and managing kids, so in her downtime you can find her working out at the gym or, more likely, decompressing on the couch watching TV.
